Super Sunday

Goooood morning. Happy happy Sundaaaaay. :) It is the long weekend... which means extra relaxing times. Well, although I am essentially having a lengthened summer vacay before school starts, you should never let the overarching "vibe" of a long weekend escape you, amiright *rapid eyebrow raises, smirky smirk smile*. It was beautiful out yesterday. I went for a nice baby jog/walk situation by the water... so sunny and toasty... a few hours later while at home, I noticed I was as red as a tomato! (Hmm... maybe it is now timely to get that new aloe vera gel from TJ's.) No complaints because it was such a pleasant surprise for it to be nice out; the weather app indicated a few days prior that rain was to be anticipated for the entire weekend. Today it's raining, but I'll take one sunny day over zero any day. And when it's gloomy and lots of water is falling from the sky, sometimes all ya want to do is stay in and be cozy... which I will most definitely be doing. R

Five Essential Trader Joe's Items

Okay, so by now I have already proclaimed my undying love for Trader Joe's on this blog. And I will continue to rave about it. Seriously, the obsession is real. One of my favorite pastimes is going to Trader Joe's. ( Oh no she did-inttt honeyyy , thoughts understandably blasting errwhere on the interwebs.) Quite frankly, there is nothing like marching a few blocks to TJ's on a you-can-fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk-degree day and then waiting in a snaking line for 30 minutes to purchase a bag of their Movie Theater popcorn. It is an experience unlike any other. So, without further ado... here are a few of the Trader Joe's items that I always keep around... 1) Instant Powdered Coffee I'm no coffee snob, but I do enjoy the convenience that this coffee provides. I've been buying it since I moved into my Boston apartment last September. Now I still do while I have been in the city. It is powdered so all you do is mix it with hot water, and voila, coffee! I drink mine bl

Thursday Thoughts

Once upon a time, in a far away land, a girl named "I" decided to relocate from major city to major city. From San Francisco, to Boston, to New York City, she proved her obsession to be around cities with problematic traffic to be stringently non-negotiable when deciding where to move next. (LA, don't even think about it. You are on another level! My memories of being stuck in paralyzed traffic for hours on end during a road trip to Disneyland when I was in elementary school still haunt me to this day... thanks a lot! ) Nonetheless, she makes her way downtown, à la Vanessa Carlton circa 2001, and enjoys going through the process of starting new chapters of her life as much as she enjoys going through the process of devouring containers of Trader Joe's Mediterranean Hummus... a don't ask, don't tell policy holds for how many she has consumed thus far. She will now stop referring to herself from a third-person vantage point and will share what has been up. Or do

Weekend Wonders

Happy Sunday! Do you ever wonder sometimes why certain things happen? Or why you meet certain people in your life? I do. I can get super pedantic overanalyzing. For example, why did I put my box of TJ's Cookie Butter Cookies in my freezer? Or how about, why did I randomly bump into that person who would compliment me on my dress on the subway? Of course, there are the good and the bad to these situations. How do I quote or insert applicable idea from Nietzsche here... although probably would make zero sense - point being, I'm trying to be philosophical. This thinking can drive me nuts, but once I get past that wonderment, I realize that these little things happen for a reason, whether I like them or not. Being a glass half-full kind of person, my view is that certain things happen and certain people come into your life for reasons that at the time were right, despite not seeming so initially, or otherwise. Fate oddly works that way. :) NOW ONTO THE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE

My Go-To Shoes

These wedges are my ride-or-die. I wear them everyday. They are super comfy, cute, and effortless. Not to mention, the neutral color matches with everything! I purchased these last summer from the J.Crew Factory site (aka got them on major sale!). Unfortunately it seems that they are no longer on J.Crew Factory and have now reverted back to being a full-priced item on the main J.Crew website. Bonus, though: you can get 25% off right now with the code "goshop" - not bad, especially while weighing in on how frequently you will want to grab these to wear, and that the original price is still under $150. I really want to purchase another pair just in case mine wear out and J.Crew decides to discontinue the shoes. Like I said, I have worn these nonstop recently and although they are not showing signs of wear-and-tear, I do fear the one day that they somehow give out. I have high hopes that won't happen *fingers crossed*, but you never know... retaining backups for goody go-to

New Beginnings

Ah, finally, I have returned to my baby of a blog; it's only been what, a four month hiatus? No biggie. I am back and ready to blog away in the blogosphere. Not to mention, the timing of this couldn't be more perfect. I have moved around the last few months, and lots has been happening, but now I am situated in a new apartment, in a new city. I wish I could put into words how I have been feeling. Wait, I can: I am SO happy and excited! After graduating college and working for a bit, it is nice to settle into a completely new place and essentially have a fresh beginning. At 22-years old, I feel like this is the ideal situation for me to be in! There is so much for me to explore and do - now the fun really begins... Here are some things to note: 1) The sheer amount of Amazon boxes that occupied much square footage in my apartment when I initially moved in was bewildering. I ordered the bare necessities for apartment standards (trust me, my furniture consists of a twin bed, a desk
