Way Cool

Although it is typical for me to wear an all-black/dark-colored outfit, it seems that I am also in favor of neutral, peachy, and nude colors (see here and here ). There is something so airy and calming (words can't describe...) about a peachy/nude-colored based outfit. As compared to wearing all-black, it isn't as edgy or bold, but rather displays a subtle softness. For this outfit, I found these "Way Cool" Stuart Weitzman wedges and fell in love with the braided espadrille wedge, ankle straps, and peep-toe at the front. To pair with the shoes: an open-back blouse with tie-straps, gathered-detail shoulders, slightly ruffled kimono-style sleeves, and a bubble-hem at the bottom; a basic pair of dark-wash, high-waisted jeans (which the top would be tucked into); a gold, delicate, two-layer necklace with crystal-embellishments on the v-shapes; a gold-toned watch with a peachy/nude colored strap; and a black structured mini bag (love small bags right now! see here ). Coral Glam

This is the very first interior decor "outfit" I put together. I don't know about you, but I think coral is one of the best colors out there. Ever. So the coral pillows (which are covers, you have to purchase the inserts separately) add a burst of color to the neutral (and tufted!) settee, and are complimented by the gold striped accent pillows. The lamps are so glam with the metallic and layered-beads base. For the wall decor, I chose the simple, white, floral canvas art (are those hydrangeas ? I love hydrangeas ). In all, this is a comfortable and gorgeous place (maybe in the living room?) to come home and rest to. Sofa: West Elm Coral Pillow Case: West Elm Gold Pillow Case: West Elm Floor Lamp: West Elm Wall Art: Graham & Brown P.S. Notice the double-ing of the pillows and lamps. I think it makes more of a statement and I really like symmetry!

Sea Studs

Crab and lobster. They are the sea studs. The studs of the sea. As you can sea, the earrings are adorable little studs in the forms of ultra mini crabs and lobsters. They evoked a very sea-y beach-y vibe to me, so I found this white mid-length sun dress, along with an intricately crocheted beach bag, and gold croc-embossed sandals to complete the outfit. I mean, if this whole outfit doesn't scream "I see, you see, we both see a sea" to you, then I don't know what will. Simply imagine wearing this outfit whilst walking down the harbor to embark on a wondrous journey on a magnificent boat. Oh, and prior to this walk to a boat journey, strolling through the soft, sandy beach with the most majestic view of the sea and hearing the harmonious hushed tones of the waves crashing along the shore. Just simply imagine that, won't you? Dress: Calypso St. Barth Earrings: Baublebar Bag: Mar Y Sol Shoes: Tory Burch

Foo Dogs

Oh my gosh, how adorable are these Foo Dogs?? (Otherwise known as the almighty Chinese Guardian Lions .) They are typically seen in China as ginormous figurines either in a pair or one by itself, "protecting" the entrance of imperial buildings/temples/households/etc. or doorways. Thankfully, I found smaller versions of these Foo Dogs, because, quite frankly, these scare me. The miniature Foo Dog statues are still a bit menacing, but since they are so small, I can't help but think they are cute as can be. They'd be good bookends and/or simply left alone on a shelf/bookcase/table/etc. by themselves as decor. The Foo Dogs are listed from lowest-highest price... 1. Target 2. Oriental Furniture 3. One Kings Lane 4. IMAX 5. Furbish Studio Tip: You can purchase the blank-slate Target bookends and spray paint them in any color for a custom look!

Classic Cotton and Chambray

This outfit is a classic with a twist. The white, crisp, cotton button-down and the nude accessories are the classics. The pleated, A-line, chambray skirt is the twist - adds a little playfulness to a ladylike outfit. Imagine: instead of a black, mid-length A-line skirt ( here and here )... think Audrey Hepburn-in-Roman-Holiday-style ... it's replaced with a slightly shorter, chambray one. The shirt would be tucked into the skirt, which would be worn slightly high-waisted. And last but not least, the accessories. The oversized sunglasses and structured satchel (which can also be worn as a crossbody!) are chic and the simple pointed-toe pumps add va-va-voom. The Lindsey Chair

Two weekends ago, I was at U.C. Davis for a tennis tournament with my mother. It was quite warm, so we found this little place called "University Mall" with Trader Joe's, Cost Plus World Market, Forever 21, Starbucks, and a few other establishments to walk around and cool down in. It was definitely peaceful and relaxing to stroll through the different stores. (Especially TJ's - love it there, purchased juice/sushi and, naturally, the Cookie Butter was calling my name.) One afternoon, we walked into Cost Plus World Market to purchase a towel (because I had forgotten mine at home - whoops) and as we entered the store, we saw these beautiful, beautiful tufted chairs. I gasped as I saw them, not even kidding. I told my mom that I needed one of those chairs, I just needed one of them. I mean, I didn't really need one necessarily, but it would be a nice addition to my bedroom. And my mother even agreed that they were gorgeous chairs. I was imagining the empty secti...

Mini Maxi

Mini bag. Maxi dress. Mini maxi. This ankle-length dress is gorgeous with a slightly bohemian feel to it - the "crochet-lace trim" and tassel tie-neck along with the cinched waist make it girly and fun. Not to mention there are pockets as well - yes! To pair with the dress, a black ultra-mini lady-like crossbody satchel, gold and turquoise accessories, and black strappy sandals with criss-cross stitching details. Altogether, this makes for another casual, yet put together outfit for the spring, summer, or just to run errands in. (I think I have a thing for these types of outfits... you know, laid-back + bit of glam.) Electra Bikes

I may or may not have done a small search on bicycles. I found these four beauties above because... they are gorgeous and colorful and oh-so-pretty. And... I may or may not have a small obsession with bicycles at this moment. When I was a much littler girl, my family and I would take weekend bike rides around the neighborhood. I remember when my sister and I went to Toys "R" Us with our dad to look at all of the bikes and pick which one(s) we wanted. I think we ended up with this pink "big girl" bike with Hawaiian-style floral decals all over it and pink glittery streamers on the handles. You have no idea how excited we were about it. We also had a smaller bike from years before the big girl bike and, for some reason, without realizing it, it was probably from the boys' section. It was a deep dark blue and there definitely was no glitter, flowers, or streamers anywhere to be found. None the less, we had these amazing two-wheeled "vehicles", so riding h...

A Lil Bit Of Silver

You know, when I was younger, I only liked silver jewelry. No gold. Bring up anything gold and I would dislike it. But bring up silver and my eyes got big and I was a happy kid. Then, at one point, I am not sure when specifically, but at that point, I began to love gold. Matching gold accessories was, and still is, the best to me and my favorite. However, to mix things up, there is absolutely no hate for silver. Silver remains close to my heart and I will still be very fond of all things silver. I mean, not as much as gold, but you know, a lil bit of silver never hurt me, so why not wear it here and there and pair some silver with an outfit. For today's outfit, the silver accessories (which I chose with little sparkles) are not simply plain. The earrings are "the evil eye", the first ring has a "jaw" style to it, and the second ring is a cool "cage-like" "double-band midi ring". They are unique silver accessory items that jazz up the basic gr...

Natural Sandals

I have been on the search for some great natural sandals that would go with pretty much any casual outfit. Typically, any simple, strappy natural sandal catches my eye - here are some of my favorite finds. 1. J.Crew 2. Madewell 3. Sam Edelman 4. K. Jacques 5. Madewell 6. Ancient Greek Sandals

Flowy 'N Flared

This is a casual outfit I put together. The key pieces are the embroidered, flowy peasant top and the flared denim jeans. The top could either be tucked in all the way (or partially) or can be left draped over the jeans. (I'd go with partially tucked in.) To complete the outfit, a fun, yet simple pair of stud earrings and a gold personalized initial cuff for the accessories, and finally, a pair of espadrille wedges for the jeans to go over and lengthen the legs. Top: H&M Pants: Frame Denim Earrings: Foxy Originals Bracelet: Kendra Phillip Shoes: Steven

Trumpet-Sleeves, Pleats, and Bows

Here I go with an all-black outfit again. (See first all-black outfit here .) This one is more feminine with trumpet-sleeves on the blouse, pleats on the skirt, cat-eye style sunglasses, and bows on both the small clutch and patent pointed-toe pumps. The skirt, which is mid-length, would be worn high-waisted with the top tucked in. Top: H&M Skirt: H&M Sunglasses: Prada Clutch: ZAC Zac Posen Shoes: Saint Laurent

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel Cream Hada Labo Tokyo Replenishing Hydrator These are the beauty products I purchased from Ulta earlier this week. I saw that these three items received high-praised reviews, so I decided to give them a try.  The Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque was applied to my freshly washed face. Immediately, as I smothered the thick, mint green goop on my face, I could feel the rather strong burning/tingling sensation from the mint-iness (kind of like if you applied toothpaste on your skin). That only lasted for a little while though upon immediate application, as the burning went away. I left the layer - which should have been thicker - on my face to dry for about 15-20 minutes. Towards the end, it felt as if my face was stuck and bunched together; the mask had dried and thus my face was frozen and tight as can be. I looked in the mirror (yikes, green face) and the goop had dried with little crackles in it. I washed the product ...

Casual Striped T-Dress

Summer calls for dresses and lots of dresses. And stripes, because I am a fan of stripes. Oh, and t-shirts, because, well, t-shirts are the best. So this dress covers all three: it's a striped t-shirt dress, aka a t-dress. I paired it with a simple caramel-colored tote bag (which can be monogrammed), white sneakers, and tortoise-shell sunglasses for a laid-back casual look.
