A Snack on the Run for Busy Bees

Haaappy Monday. What a relaxing weekend... that was just the right antidote for an I've-been-running-uptown-downtown-all-the-way-around-town-now-I'm-hashtag-dead kind of week. Friday night, Saturday, Sunday: decompress, recharge, and prep for the next week ahead. This AM: *dancing to Blue October's "I Hope You're Happy" * - one of my fave songs! Anyway, on those busy bee days, when you find that there is minimal time to sit down to enjoy a meal or put in the effort to cook (sigh, I really do wish I could cook different recipes all day!), this tuna salad snackpack is a lifesaver. I found the 12-pack - which is just under $12 - on Amazon and ordered it to try. Side note: thank you, Jeff, for giving me the opportunity to order something relatively random from Prime nearly every millisecond of the day. ( Real life photo of me playing Jenga with my Amazon Prime boxes. ) Other than the flavor of the tuna salad being rather tasty, this little snackpack saves sooo m...

New Beginnings in New York City

Wow, 1L year starts in less than 10 days... I took a one-way flight to NYC in the end of March, so it's been almost half a year here - unbelievable, time sure does fly! I've always been a city girl but NYC is my favorite now. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area made me adamant about moving out east for college, and Boston had my heart as soon as I visited my school's urban campus - being able to conveniently hop on the T to head downtown for shopping, food, or exploring was a bonus. Following graduation, I experienced working in Boston's Financial District for a while, which was great, but I felt like I needed a change... you know, do the whole I'm-young-and-want-to-explore-more type of thing. Plus, the timing was on point; I was in the middle of working on my law school applications so I narrowed my focus to NYC schools... after choosing the right fit, I prepped for the big move, and lo and behold, I am now a New Yorker!!! *cheesy grin* With any change there c...

Nerai

Nerai , a Greek restaurant on E 54th between Madison/Park, reminded me that I've always been a fan of  eating gallons of hummus  Mediterranean food... We sat upstairs in a cozy booth and ordered their hummus, meatballs, orzotto, and scallops - what the dishes were actually called, respectively: Revithada me Hummus, Soutzoukakia, Orzotto Thalassino, Xtenia me Panseta. (I basically know a new language now...) Everything was yummy, but if I had to choose a favorite, it'd have to be the scallops. Others I'd want to try: their tuna tartare - Tuna Tartare, octopus - Xtapodi sit Skara, lobster pasta - Astakomakaronada, the other seafood dishes, chicken - Kotopoulo Lemonato, and duck - Papia Moussaka.
