Monday Musings

Happy Monday! The start of March has me thinking about lots of things... we are headed towards being a quarter of the way done with 2020, St. Patrick's Day festivities are to be planned, and college basketball will infiltrate the souls of bars. Nevertheless, I feel especially excited because there is a lot coming up this month for me. They are tbd situations, but of course the anticipation of receiving confirmation about things is not only nerve-wracking but truly exciting.

Here are some things I have bought lately. While I have been trying to cut my spending, I can't help it if I walk into a store and see something pretty, or if my online window shopping habits happen to force me to immediately go to the store and purchase the thing I gasped at. Sorry, not sorry. Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. :)

I am a size 7 normally, but these pumps run a tad small. The 7.5 fits perfectly, albeit I had to wear them in a bit. They are rather stiff at first, but eventually stretch to form to your feet. Added to my wishlist is the nude versions of these. I love how I can wear these to work and also dress them up/down during off-work hours. The gold detailing and the bow, plus the added pump, makes this style feminine and classic. I absolutely love these shoes and can't wait to get the nude pairs.
Hermes' twilly collection is quite expansive. There are so many colors and patterns. I got this one, but am eyeing these: love this, love this, love this. I love the thin scarf because of its versatility. I can wear it as a headband, a neck-scarf, a wristband bracelet, a handbag accessory, etc. etc. This has been added to my fairly baby of a collection: I have a Louis Vuitton skinny scarf, and now this Hermes skinny scarf. I'm sure I will add even more colors and patterns to my skinny scarf collection.
My go-to foundation has been Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation. It is long-lasting, full coverage, and it has been my absolute favorite. But after going through a bottle, I try to branch out and try another foundation. Usually I will always revert back to the Double Wear foundation, but hey, you never know, with all the new foundations coming out, I might have a new favorite. I'm almost out of the Double Wear bottle I have now (probably have gone through five or six total), so I opted to go to Sephora, and I got the Make Up Forever Matte Velvet Foundation. It's similar to the Double Wear in that it's a matte finish and long-wearing, but it seems lighter on the skin. I've tried it for a few days, so let's see once I'm done with the bottle how I feel about it. Honestly, I'm likely to go back to the Double Wear, but tbd.

I have found some of my favorite drugstore makeup products. For example, I love this bronzer, this mascara, this contouring stick, this primer, this setting spray, this highlighter, this eyebrow pencil, this setting powder. As you can tell, most of my makeup are drugstore brands. I spend more on my foundation and oftentimes my lip products (I love YSL/Dior lippies), but for everything else, I tend to stay with drugstore brands. Milani's Baked Blush collection is great. I first bought the Dolce Pink color and fell in love with it; it's super pigmented and buildable, has just the right amount of sheen, and is the perfect shade of pink. I took a stroll in my local Duane Reade and decided to pick up the Luminoso shade. It's more peachy toned but again, the formula is fantastic. I can't wait to keep wearing these blushes.
My favorite snack at the moment. This went on sale for 50% off at my Bed Bath & Beyond due to a soon-to-arrive expiration date. My eyes lit up when I saw that and I literally gasped out loud. Next thing you know, I have six bags of this in my apartment. Now I am down to three bags, but I have had one bag a day so far. Within three days, the remaining bags of popcorn will be long gone.
